Jay Reale Ebodyboarding.com Beater bodyboard
A shop that is right down the street from us that has been a Catch Surf supporter since the beginning is ebodyboarding.com, so today we would like to shed a little light on them in our blog world. Ebodyboarding is ran by Jay Reale (pictured aboved with his magazine covers) and his wife Vicki who are both former professional bodyboarders turned shop owners in San Clemente. Not only is Jay a shredder bodyboarder, he also rips his Catch Surf Y-Quad and Swizzle on a weekly basis!

Bodyboard Ring of Fire 2 wrist band
This past Saturday the Ring of Fire 2 premiere went down at the Elk’s lodge in San Clemente and it went off! Over 500 people showed up for the premiere and the video was nothing short of a sick display of bodyboarding. Even Ryan Sheckler and his crew showed up to watch the vid. Check out the wrist bands to get in with the Division 71 logos! Catch Surf was proud to be the main sponsoring company of the video.

Rob Isambert and John Porzuczek at premiere
The stars of the show Rob Isambert (maker of the vid) on the right with John “BEANS” Porzuczek who is now riding for Division 71 bodyboards. We are stoked to have a high caliber US rider like BEANS on the Division 71 team and his skills were showcased well in the closer segment of the video.

Division 71 on the big screen
The opening of Bean’s segment showed his new Division 71 board which he rode in the Division 71 commercial and got some sick barrels with a helmet cam! Get the video, you’ll see the commercial, it got some good yells when it played at the premiere.

Catch Surf Team Beach House in North Carolina
We had the Catch Surf team house in full effect right on the beach in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. Yes, it has a jacuzzi on the top balcony for the relax action after the contest. Big thanks to Bob Hovey, the owner of Duck Village Outfitters surf shops in Duck and Salvo, NC. Pic: GOAT

Mike Bain thumbs down
Waves were smaller today for the remaining bodyboard am divisions of the contest, here Division 71 grom Mike Bain showing his amp for the “ankle slappers”.

Catch Surf OBX am finals
The top four bodyboarders of the men’s am bodyboard division with all the Catch Surf loot. It was Division 71’s Taylor Page who barely beat Matt “GOAT” Collins for the win and the killer new Beater.

Jr's Bodyboard finals Division 71
In the junior am’s bodyboard, Division 71’s Mike Bain was able to edge out NC local boy Cyrus Lewis for the win.

With the average wave this small, the sun blaring and the am contest over early, the boys were keen to make it a Catch Surf afternoon! Pic: GOAT

Catch Surf Beater bodyboard surfboard
This is Bubba a shredder bodyboarder who came down from Florida and he was frothing the whole contest to try a Beater and when he got the chance today, he ripped. He killed it skimming it, surfed it insane and got dropknee barrels on it! Pic:GOAT

Taylor Page was on it skimming the ONE again and he decided to do it with sunglasses. This photo is a pretty cool artsy angle of of Taylor throwing frontside skim chunks. Photo:GOAT

Ricky Catch Surf Outer Banks Shootout
Today was the first day of competition at the first annual OBX Shootout in North Carolina that was presented Catch Surf and Duck Village Outfitters. The waves were were small but very clean and contestable and the weather was 90 degrees!

Empty 1ft reeler
Waves were were glassy with a light offshore all day. An empty one lingers through in between heats.

Mike Bain Catch Surf
Some of the competitors checking their heats. Today was all the pro heats and there where two contest zones with one running Pro Surfing and one running Pro Bodyboarding. The contest had a unique format, which had 3 man death heats (one rider advances), man on man and money rounds where competitors win money for each heat they win.
Jeff Myers OBX Shootout
One of East Coast’s top pro surfers Jeff Myers made it down to the contest and was ripping it all day in the Pro Surfboard division. Sorry the action shots aren’t super pro since I was shooting with my point-and-shoot, but ESM magazine was on hand with pro photographers getting shots for the mag.
Catch Surf Beater
It was pretty rad how there was giant beach mansions on stilts behind the contest zone and some of the competitors would set up camp under them to stay in the shade and beat the heat.
Taylor Page Division 71 bodyboard OBX Shootout
Our Division 71 grom Taylor Page surfed solid in the event but fell just shy of the money rounds, this is Taylor walking up the beach after his loss to some of the east coast locals.
Taylor Page Catch Surf ONE
Instead of getting bummed, Taylor decided to grab his trunks and ONE board and turn the day into an epic tale of radness.
Catch Surf ONE Taylor Page
Taylor went down the beach, got his tan on and threw some skim shwacks.

Mike Bain
Division 71’s other grom Mike Bain, surfed really solid in the comp and managed to make the second biggest stack of cash in the event. This is a zoomed out pic of Bain rolling off a set wave.

Lucas Rogers Catch Surf Y-Quad OBX Shootout
The surfers were ripping all day and doing some amazing sh*t including 360 airs, big hacks, ally oops, even shuvits but at the end of the day it was Billabong’s east coast air man Lucas Rogers edging out California’s Jesse Evans taking home the most cash and the cherry 2010 Y-Quad with FCS.

Mike Bain Division 71 Outer Banks Shootout surf contest
The top 2 cash cows of the bodyboard event Mike Bain and Brian Stoehr with Stoehr taking the lions share of dinero and a sick custom stamped Beater which you will probably see him riding this summer in Ocean City, Maryland.

Ricky Miller
Ricky Miller making it happen by running the mic and also tabulating at the same time. Big thanks to Ricky and Bob Hovey of Duck Village Outfitters for making the event a good day of fun at the beach. Also huge thanks to all the judges including crazy Carl of VB.

Mike Bain Division 71 bodyboards
The East Coast Division 71 riders sent us some pics of some spingtime action in the Outer Banks North Carolina. This first one is of Division 71 grom Mike Bain pulling into a slabby barrel with perfect style! Pic: Chaney

Ricky Miller OBX 2
The man with a plan, Ricky Miller pulling into an icy nugget somewhere in the Outer Banks. Ricky reports that the water is getting a lot warmer and he’s now wearing a 3/2 with no gloves or hood. We are hoping for water in the mid sixties for the OBX shootout contest. Pic: GOAT

Ricky Miller OBX
Ricky again, this time on a sweet glassy bowl. Ricky busted a sick air reverse on this, but you will just have to wait until the Division 71 website is up to see it. Pic: GOAT
