Catch Surf in collaboration with Transworld Surf magazine is proud to announce the first annual Battle of the Beater contest going down at Buccaneer Beach in Oceanside, California on July 31st. The Battle of the Beater contest will have a free Open Beater Division (limited entry slots) and also an Invitational Pro Finless Division where riders can use the Beater or ONE board. Along with the contest, we will also be doing board demos and raffles throughout the day. This should be a fun Catch Surf-style day at the beach. Keep checking back for more info on the event.

New ONE framegrabs of Beaker and his bro Omar
Tuesday, June 29th, 2010
Bill “Beaker” “Beak dawg” “10th Street Bro” Bryan brought us a little edit of him and his good friend Omar Meddeb having some finless fun on their ONE boards, so here is a few framegrabs and the story behind them. This first one shows the boys having a finless party wave and it looks as almost they are having a little face to face conversion on the wave!

Ok, we all know Beaker Bryan is the man at skimming but how are these chunks he’s throwing switch-stance on the ONE????

Here’s Omar busting a pretty big finless pop 180 after straightening out on a closeout which is pretty hard to do…

This frame grab of Bill skimming the ONE down the street fully clothed in the rain is pretty much all time!!! Catch Surf strongly advises to NOT TRY THIS AT HOME and will also void all warranties due to “street skimming”. It’s funny none the less….
Keep the pix coming!!!!

Top pro skimboarder and Catch Surf teamrider Morgan Just sent us a classic pic from somewhere in Laguna Beach.

San Diego’s Craig Midili with a nice backhand cutty he posted up on his Facebook page.

Here’s a picture of our buddies from Atlantic Bodyboards having a nice beach day somewhere in NewYork and of course they have the Beater on hand to make the day complete!

Alejandro Ochoa posted this classic pic on our Facebook of himself wiping out pretty good on the Swizzle. Goin’ for it!

Brad Osborn on his new Beater board! Here’s his quote from his e-mail: “love the board. I can’t get back to my normal surfboards. This thing is too fun.”

Some groms posted this pic on our Facebook page and we thought it was pretty classic! Looks like the Beater boxes also make for good summertime fun!

Tara Iglays posted up a nice picture that truly gives the summertime vibe of the East Coast.

Rick Napp sent us this pic of him wakeskating the finless ONE and for those who don’t know, the ONE and Super ONE are awesome for wakeskating and skurfing.

Darren Akana from HLI sent us some pics of the Sandy’s boyz charging the Y-Quad in some pretty heavy Sandy Beach shorebreak. This first shots shows some true balls as this Sandy’s local bottom turns a rogue monster thats breaking on about 2ft. of water!! Pic. Akana/HLI

Another nice bottom turn on a shorebreak dumper. Check out “shashimi” rock in the impact zone to the right of the surfer. Pic. Akana/HLI

Yesssss, the almighty shorebreak acid drop on the Y-Quad! Pic. Akana/HLI
