Tony B of Washington got a 6′0″ Y-Quad to kiteboard with and says it works insane. The hybrid technology helps kiteboarders handle the chop better and also provides better float for speed. The softer materials also make the board a lot safer as well.
CJ with a little punter at Salt Creek a couple weeks ago on his new 5 footer with FCS. The board hauls in the smaller beachbreak conditions!
Sick little snap on a Salt Creek musher.
We didn’t run this shot awhile back, but its a pretty sick fronside air! This is from Salt Creek on the day he scored the editorial shot in the Surfer magazine board guide.
CJ busting a nice air a few months back on Joel’s 5′ Y-Quad. What’s crazy about this shot is that it was probably 1 maybe 2 feet this day at T-Street and CJ took Joel’s board and banged out a few airs off the mini lips. He was actually riding the Beater this day.
This photo was from the same day as the above photo, so you can get an idea of how small it was. CJ dodging the groms on the beater.
Our 16 year old East Coast grom Mike Bain just arrived in Oahu and reports the waves are pumping, here’s a picture of Mike getting a sick sunset shot with Pipe in the background. This is Mike’s maiden voyage to the North Shore and he’s so pumped it’s crazy! As long as he respects the locals and charges hard, I think he will get some of the best waves of his life. He is also entered in the Pipeline pro contest and I believe he might be the youngest competitor this year.
Mike snapped a pic of a little nugget at stormy Pipe to get us suckers jealous while we sit in front of our computers at the office…
Mike’s Black Lite 41.5’s at the top of the house quiver.
Our pro Ocean Beach Beater pro rider/ photog legend Phil Hudson also just arrived and will be throwing some tail on his new Division 71 42″ Black Lite board as well as on his Beater. Phil will also be getting tricky on the angles with his water housing at OTW and Pipe. Phil send us the goods, for the daily fix!!!!!!!
Former professional bodyboarder and ebodyboarding.com owner, Jay Reale is a strong believer in the performance of our Y boards and it shows because he is either riding his 6′0″ Y-Quad or 9′0″ Swizzle everyday! Here are some pics we got off Jay’s facebook page, ripping the Swizzle at T-Street this past week.
Jay with the Swizzle in proper trim, maximizing his speed on a small peeler.
Check out Bill Bryan’s new ONE board, he tricked it out with some custom Sharpie graphics. Looks like his own hybrid Pluto design or something. Bill said he got a nice 360 shove it with it on his first session!
On January 3rd and 4th Catch Surf was showing off the new boards to all the retailers at the ASR trade show. The show was held at the San Diego convention center and all the heavy hitters were there, including legendary skateboarder Tony Alva (pictured above). Check out the video below on what Tony had to say about our boards, he actually bought one our 5′0″ Y-Quads from Drill surf in Malibu and loves it!
Tony Alva on the Catch Surf 5′0″ Y-Quad.
Division 71 team rider Taylor Page came down to the show and made some new friends! Most groms were stoked on seeing their surf heros, but for Taylor he was more hyped on the girls.
Even the San Diego news channel showed up and they were so pumped on the boards that they interviewed our sales manager Joel Manalastas about them.
A picture of the booth before the show started with all the boards nice and organized.
After Joel got on the San Diego news, women were already flocking to him in hopes that he was famous. Joel angled his luck and got the girls to prop up with the Beater.
Even the skater bear wanted to pose with the Beater. Everyone loves the Beater!!
Skull Candy had girls pushing around carts with free candy all day. Skull Candy is dope for doing that.
Carey Hart short course truck.
The runway show was pretty cool and no one can hate girls flaunting in bikinis.
Atwater’s booth had some artists painting some sick pieces, here is a sample of a dope panda one.
Chris our marketing guy was devastated after his iPhone fell out of his pocket on to the concrete. Check out the custom stained glass iPhone screen…
At the end of the show, Joel drank some janky wine from like 1984 and was claiming The Brain was following him…
Catch Surf rider CJ Drummy stopped by the factory yesterday and reported his new 5′ Y-Quad is working insane and he brought the footage to prove it!
CJ got some sick video on his new 5′ Y-Quad and these are some of the frame grabs off it. We hope to have a new CJ edit by next week right here on the blog, so everyone can see just how sick these new boards are working with the FCS boxes in them. This framegrab shows him busting a lofty frontside air at one of his Laguna secret spots.
This framegrab doesnt really do the video justice, but he did a sick little punt, landed into a tailslide and rode it out. All these framegrabs were taken of pulled moves, no out the back stuff…..
Turning and burning somewhere in Laguna.
