Sesión del 24 de enero de 2010 from murciasurf on Vimeo.

Oscar Torres all the way from El Galua (which I think is in Spain?) sent us a cool video of his friend Edu, busting out in some small but fun surf! Check it out, he even hung 5 on a 6′ Y-Quad!!! The Y-Quad’s work insane in smaller surf!

Bill Bryan riding the Beater in the bigger stuff

Thursday, January 28th, 2010

Bill Bryan brought us some footage of him surfing the Beater board on the recent run of swells and it’s pretty amazing he can ride this finless board in the bigger stuff. The finless is not really meant for this type of surf, but Bill showed us it’s do-able and not only that a lot of the footage is switch stance!

Naki meeting Catch Surf Beater Y-Quad
Yesterday the nakisurf.com crew came by the Catch Surf factory including the infamous Naki himself all the way from Hawaii. They were psyching on the new FCS fin system in the Y-Quads. Naki and Taro just opened a sick office in San Clemente right down the street and are continuing to kill it in the Japanese market. Check it out. www.nakisurf.com.

Taylor Page Division 71 bodyboards 1-24-10-3
With this last run of swell lingering, Salt Creek had some fun surf on tap for January 24th and 25th. Above is a picture of Taylor Page scooping a nice one on 1-24-10. Taylor got some pretty clean pits this day and was getting good down the line speed with the Black Lite core.

T Page again with the stylish dropknee rock’n'roll floater off a nice Salt Creek section.

Shane Sheckler
Taylor rolled up to the beach with Shane Sheckler from the hit MTV show, Life of Ryan. Shane was getting some sick backside nuggets all morning long.

Chris Monroe Division 71 bodyboard
The morning of the 25th also saw some really fun waves at Salt Creek. Chris Monroe (pictured here) and Joel Manalastas were able to find a peak to themselves at gravels, which served up some fun little ramps and open faces.

Joel Manalastas
Catch Surf sales manager Joel Manalastas bashing one at gravels. Every morning at Salt Creek you can find Joel drinking coffee and checking it from the bridge. If you see him there, stop him and ask for a free board.

Surfboard Quiver Frank Markovich Catch Surf Beater
Frank Markovich out of New Jersey has one pretty dope surfboard quiver and the Beater board is the icing on the cake! We designed the Beater board for guys like Frank who enjoy all the different aspects that riding waves has to offer! All Frank needs now is a Y-Quad and a Swizzle! If you or any of your friends have riding shots or quiver shots with Catch Surf gear, send them in, we would love to share them!

Uknowner BBer Mokitom.com
January 22nd and 23rd brought some heavy surf to the west coast and mokitom.com shared some sweet photos he clicked during the swell. Here is a pretty cool shot of a bodyboarder scoping a heavy empty right coming through at Aliso on the 22nd.

Uknown BBer
An unknown bodyboard scoops into a nice foamy shack! If anyone knows who this is, let us know!

Division 71 bodyboard Black Lite Chris Monroe
Our Division 71 guy Chris Monroe paddled out solo at gravels and was able to pick off a few big walls, but later found the paddle was the reason for no one else being out. Chris reported that the Black Lite core worked insane in the chunkier conditions.

Taylor Page Division 71 bodyboards
Division 71’s new grom Taylor Page hit up a secret spot in Laguna and scored some pretty heavy pits including this little doozie! Taylor was riding his prototype Black Lite 39″ board.

Chris Monroe Division 71 bodyboards
With gravels being a little unmanagable, Chris met up with Taylor in Laguna to get a couple corners. The little bowls allowed for clean barrels and fun open face manuevers. Keep checking back as we will be adding more shots from the recent run of swells.
